When you enter a search term into the search bar of the media view, the pixx.io search will automatically suggest keywords. The number of results for this keyword is shown in brackets after the word.
The actual number of results may sometimes be higher - but why is this?
For autosuggested keywords, pixx.io counts only media with keywords that directly match the search term.
The search itself includes not only keywords, but also filenames, descriptions, titles, locations and all (dynamic) metadata that has been set to "searchable" within the "Exif- / IPTC Settings".
If any of these include the search term, then that media item will also be shown in the search results, but not in the autosuggest result count.
